My Sims cannot tell my toddler sims nursery rhymes and your supposed to be able and mine cant got any clues y?

in the game it gives you a want for your adult sims to teach your toddler sim a nursery rhyme but when i click on my toddler sim it does not give me the option to teach and when my adult sim reads the parenting book on the bookshelf i get no where either i'm so sad :'( anyone got any idea why it wont let me? maybe its one of many thousands of downloads lol but who knows!
