Erik Morales vs. Juan Manuel Marquez at welterweight, who would win?
Juan Manuel Marquez would dominate Erik Morales at any weight if they were to fight now. It's a shame that Morales will even fight again; he is too deteriorated and overweight to make anything else out of his career and after his last fight which was a loss to David Diaz, he complained about how much his head hurt. I remember he was talking about coming back shortly after that fight and Bob Arum said he would refuse to promote him because he didn't want to see him get hurt: that's something I applaud Arum for doing. As bad as Marquez looked at welterweight in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather, he would still beat Morales easily. Marquez and Morales are both career featherweights so the weight wouldn't matter, unlike Marquez's fight with Mayweather in which Floyd had never fought below 130 pounds and had been a welterweight for past 4 plus years. The Morales of 2005 or anytime before that would have been a real challenge for Marquez and quite possibly could have beaten him, however I still think Marquez's technical skills would have carried him to a close, decision victory. If they fought now, Marquez would macre Morales and most likely stop him as Marquez is currently one of the top 10 pound for pound fighters in the world while Morales has not won a fight since 2005.
